A Thought For Your Christian Journey:
Glory In The Temple
1 Kings
8:10-11
10 And it came to pass, when the
priests were come out of the holy
place, that the cloud
filled the house of the LORD, 11
So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the
cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.
King Solomon has spared no expense in building the
first temple dedicated to the Lord God Almighty.
The Bible records that the floors within the Temple were covered in gold.
When the construction of the temple was completed the priests
carefully placed all of the holy things with in the temple, cleansed it
and dedicated it to God.
Our text records that as the priests left
the holy place, after dedicating it, that a cloud filled the house of
the Lord, indicating the pleasure and presence of the Jehovah God. This
cloud was so majestic that the priests could not stand to minister for
the overwhelming glory of God that filled that place.
What an incredible sight and experience this must have been.
This must have been reminiscent of the Shekinah Glory that rest
upon the Tabernacle in the wilderness.
But do you know that the presence of God
manifested upon the physical
temple
of Solomon ought to
be the continuous reality of born again believers today.
The Bible states,
2
Corinthians 6:16-18
16 . . .
for
ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will
dwell in them, and walk in
them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among
them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean
thing; and I will
receive you, 18 And will be
a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord
Almighty.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ you have become the
living temple of Almighty God.
All of the overwhelming glory of God that filled Solomon’s
Temple
that day lives within you.
But what does it take for God’s glory to be manifested in you?
Nothing less than it took for Solomon’s Temple many years ago.
A sincere heart, purified and prepared for the Lord of Hosts to
abide in.
Is the manifested glory of our holy Lord
God Almighty being manifested in and through the temple of your life?
