Sins Of Ignorance
Leviticus 4:1-3
1
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel,
saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of
the LORD concerning things
which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
3 If the priest that is anointed do sin
according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he
hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.
The truth is that even sins of ignorance carry definite
penalties and must be cleansed and forgiven.
Our Heavenly Father provides forgiveness and cleansing from any and all
sin. But we must acknowledge our
sins and seek God’s forgiveness with sincerity and purpose.
Pretending that our sins do not exist will never result in a cleansing.
God is ready to forgive, but we must confess our sins and seek His
forgiveness (1 John
1.9).
God’s provision for even sins of ignorance demonstrates the
depth of God’s desire to be near His people.
Sin separates us from God, but our Heavenly Father wants to be close to
us. Therefore, He graciously
provides that every sin might be completely cleansed so that we might live in a
close relationship with our holy God.
Praise God for His cleansing provision.
