Jesus was a great man.

Jesus was a great teacher.

Jesus was a great prophet.

Jesus was the son of God.

But, Jesus was not God.
Was Jesus God?
The Bible clearly
testifies that Jesus was:
Not only
close to God.
Not only mindful of
God.
But Jesus was Almighty- God.
The clearest indication of this is found in
1 John
5.7 in the King James Bible.
The fact that Jesus:
Did miracles
that could only be attributed to God, and many of them (John
21.24-25).
Evidenced
characteristics that could only be attributed to God (John
1.48 - omniscience).
Physically
rose from a cold dead tomb (Luke
24.36-39).
These all lend
themselves to the fact that Jesus was and is Almighty-God.
The passage we have as our current text reveals that Jesus Himself claimed,
without a doubt, to be God.
These
Jews understood exactly what Jesus said.
They took up stones to kill Jesus not because Hew claimed to think like
God or to be stiritually gifted, but because He calimed to be God.
Let the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ be absolutely convinced and certain that
Jesus is Almighty-God.
He is
King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Rev
19.16).
He is the divine
creator and sustainer of all creation (
