Born Again Christians Are For Unique Life
It’s wonderful to know that our Lord came to give us an
abounding life, and in Christ life truly does abound.
However, it is equally important to know that God has given mankind
uniqueness in life. Our
contemporary culture has tried for numerous centuries to rob mankind of its
uniqueness in our world. We are
consistently and relentlessly taught that human beings are nothing more than
highly evolved animals, but this is far from God’s revelation concerning His
most cherished creations.
Every thing that God created in our world was supernaturally
spoken into existence by the Word of God.
God spoke and it was so (Gen 1.3,6,9,11,14,20,24).
However, when God created man He said,
“. . . Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: . . .” (Gen 1.26).
Our text for this devotion indicates that for mankind God actually
reached down from heaven, formed Adam, and then breathed life into him.
Hence, mankind was a distinct creation from everything else that was
created.
The Apostle Paul noted this distinction when he wrote,
“All flesh
is not the same flesh: but
there is one
kind of flesh of men, another
flesh of beasts, another of fishes,
and another of birds” (1 Cor 15.39).
Humanity was created with the special intent of God to stand out from
everything else in the physical universe.
There is a divinely intended uniqueness in mankind.
We are not animals, we are human beings.
This uniqueness makes all of human life very special.
Life is to be cherished through all of its phases.
From the moment of conception to the moment of ones divinely determined
death human life must be protected and preserved.
The only living being that has the authority to infuse or remove life is
Almighty-God. While it is God who gives government its guidelines concerning
responsibility and justice, and in those guidelines reveals again the incredibly
precious nature and distinctiveness of all human life; it is our individual
responsibility to recognize the amazing uniqueness and gift of the life that God
has given to every human being and to vigorously protect and preserve it.
Human beings truly are uniquely created in the very image of
God. We are His unique creation.
